New Laser for the Diamond Processing Laboratory
A new laser has been purchased to prepare diamond samples for research programmes in diamond electronics,
diamond monochromators for intense synchrotron generated X-ray beams and other programmes.

The Laser will also be deployed to Diamond programs in the Centre of Excellence for Strong Materials.

The laser has been specially built by Systems Automation and Management (SAM).

Specifications
  1. NdYag diode pumped Q switched laser, 10W cw power.
  2. 3-axis product / beam manipulation
  3. Windows PC with Visual Basic GUI for control
  4. Pmac based CMC controller with standard and user specific diamond processing programs
  5. Monochrome camera system aligned to beam delivery
